Have you always worked in the financial sector?
I have been in working the financial sector for the past 16 years. I had the opportunity to work in civil service, say, in the Office of the Government of the Slovak Republic or at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Slovakia.

What is the story of your career in finances?
I begun with finances in 2000 when I started working in the Amslico AIG Life insurance company. I received the task of establishing and developing the division of group life insurance policies in Slovakia.

At that time, the AIG group was the seventh largest financial institution in the world and I have to admit that I was stunned to see the dynamics and vitality of the company when introducting changes. Later, I had the chance to work for the division of AIG also in Toronto, Canada, where there was a completely different business environment. That said, the division was, too, only in its early days there.

I spent a number of years working with car financing in leasing companies. In 2007, I found myself in the field of investments, capital markets and investment in general. Investment financing is an extremely interesting sector and I am happy to be able to devote my time to it now.

At this level, the manager takes the whole responsibility for the operation of the company. He or she must account for the aims of the shareholders and fulfil them on a regular basis. This position lets the manager implement changes that may ultimately help the company succeed in various areas.

Today, Proxenta is a hihgly dynamic investment group and PROXENTA Finance is a major financial part of it. The company needs to be able to flexibly respond to the group’s needs, to the requests of the investors, all of this in the environment of strict and rapidly changing regulation system on both the Slovak and European scenes.

What is your highest motivation?
First of all, of course, it is the trust of shareholders. Business is my cup of tea and my aim is to let both the business and the investors enjoy perfect services and support.

What is your first goal in the office?
Primarily the people, the employees of the company. I need to know how they feel in their positions and what their ambitions and personal goals are. Together, we will judge whether the professional and personal ambitions of every employee meet the needs od the company and whether they will participate on our common success. We have to redefine the workflows, responsibilities and tasks of each one of us in order to support the business of the whole group. Another important factor is the motivation of people as there are some changes that need to be made.

What do you see as the biggest challenge for PROXENTA Finance in the upcoming months?
To create a team of people who will work on our common success withing the PROXENTA group.

In the past months, you spent a lot of time travelling and familiarizing yourself with the Slovak financial market and the subjects operating on it. How do you see Proxenta’s future and its place on the Slovak market?
The Proxenta investment group grows very dynamically. The environment is in a state of constant flux, yet we are still able to lead the change with our innovations and successful projects. The growth of our group also changes our responsibilities. The amount of tasks grows along with the expectations of our investors. We need to be able to successfully reflect these changes at the technical and administrative level so that we will be able to sustain the trend on a long-term basis.

As far as the future is concerned, I am highly optimistic. The Proxenta Group has successfully entered new segments and has reached for bigger and bigger projects. The economic environment helps us grow, too. I believe we will be able to utilize this potential for further growth and stabilisation of the company.
